The Sherman High Girls Powerlifting team entered the Bells High School meet on Thursday, January 29th and made an outstanding showing. In only the second competition of the year, these girls, many of whom are new to powerlifting, continue to excel. There are 13 girls on the team who continue to improve on their personal bests each week. Six girls medaled and the team finished 6th out of 14 teams in the meet. The medalists were Genisis Zamora, Marie Van Sant, Miranda Elston, Henna Moreno, Charlotte Huckstein, and Hannah Smith.
The outstanding lift of the day was when Henna Moreno completed a dead lift of 245 lb, which was 55 lb. better than her personal record. This gave Henna a 3rd place finish in her weight division.
