The Bearcat Spotlight is shining this week on a freshman multi-sport athlete, Nathan Omayebu. Nathan participates in football, basketball, and track, and one of his favorite memories is about his fifth grade football team that went two rounds deep in the play-offs. He remembers the tackles he made on kick-offs and on defense as well as a couple of fumble recoveries for his team.
Nathan is also a good student and lists Art or Health as his top choices for a favorite class. When asked about the upcoming football season he said, “We are definitely going to have a better season as long as we keep up the good work. We get better every day, and if we keep it up, we’ll make it.” He also reminds the fans that even though this year was rough, they need the continuous support in spirit and being at the games cheering for us, “while we show what we worked for.” To his teammates he says, “If we make sure to do all the small things, the bigger picture will become a reality.” Nathan would like the chance to play college football while he studies medicine to become a surgeon. Good luck, Nathan!
