On Monday night, May 11th, the Spring Athletic Banquet was held at Austin College, and it was a huge success. The Austin College facility is such an outstanding place to host a banquet, and over 300 student athletes, parents, Booster Club members and coaches were on hand to enjoy the festivities. Award winners from Golf, Tennis, Basketball, Soccer, Baseball, Softball, Swimming, Track, Student Training, and Powerlifting were all recognized as well as the presentation of the two Trenell Walker awards, Ramey Chevrolet award, and the Verdie Dickey award.
Brooks Hull did a great job as M.C. for the dinner as well as being the winner of the Trenell Walker Volunteer of the Year Award. Ty Williams and Mary Kate Motley won scholarship awards, and Jonathan Torres won the Verdie Dickey Award as the outstanding multi-sport athlete.
Sherman High School would like to thank the Bearcat Booster Club for their outstanding support this past school year. Besides the two athletic banquets, they provided financial support for a number of projects requested by different teams and made a huge difference in the athletic program at Sherman High. Congratulations to the new Booster Club President for the 2015-2016 school year, Willie Steele. Go Bearcats!!!
